Lancaster, CA. July 21, 2011 – The Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC) Foundation is currently accepting applications for its 2011-2012 Community Arts Grant Program. Applications must be submitted by June 28th. The grant program, now in its fifteenth year, provides annual production funding to community performing arts organizations.

“Since 1996, the LPAC Foundation has supported local performance groups with the resources they need to continue bringing high quality entertainment and cultural events to the children, youth adults and families of the Antelope Valley. During the 2010-2011season, we were pleased to be able to assist five local performing arts organizations,” stated Lou Bozigian, Foundation Board President.

The Community Arts Grant Program application packets are available through the City of Lancaster’s Parks, Recreation and Arts Department or by calling the LPAC Foundation at (661) 723-6082. Eligible performing arts organizations must hold 501(c)(3) non-profit status and be Lancaster-based or have programs which serve the residents of the City of Lancaster.

Organizations can apply for a maximum amount of $2,500; however, grant dollars awarded may be less depending on various factors, including the number of applicants approved for the 2011-2012 funding cycle. The deadline for submittal of the applications is Thursday, July 28, 2011, with recipients to be announced by September 1, 2011. The funded programs or projects must be implemented within twelve months of the award date. The Foundation Board of Directors consists of Louis V. “Lou” Bozigian, R. Steven Derryberry, Dr. John Porter, Timothy Doerfler, Berna Mayer, Dr. Inpamani S. Arul, Patricia Fregoso-Cox, Marco Johnson, and Mark E. Thompson.
