The material can take any format as long as it is related to the topic in a way that will be apparent to the audience- can be sketch, a character or concept piece, storytelling, or stand-up. At the end of the show we take an audience suggestion for the next week’s topic and send it out to the comics booked on that show. So every week it’s a brand new show with new comics and new, never seen before material. This week’s topic: Mothers and Headaches!

Acting is an emotional purchase

ontheroadjim_2

Acting is an emotional purchase. It’s a love hate relationship. It is the human condition which we expose. It’s really the only time I grow inside and is the only validation of my existence.

This is why at 52 years old I come as a child back to my dream. Without your feedback I am on the outside looking in, with it I have I hope.

Call me corny, old school, but no matter what the feedback is it’s the most important validation an actor can receive. How it is received is only a testament to the willingness of an actor to grow.

For this and this alone is why Self Management For Actors is my Bible and Bonnie Gillespie you are my Sage.
