Acting is an emotional purchase

Acting is an emotional purchase. It’s a love hate relationship. It is the human condition which we expose. It’s really the only time I grow inside and is the only validation of my existence.

This is why at 52 years old I come as a child back to my dream. Without your feedback I am on the outside looking in, with it I have I hope.

Call me corny, old school, but no matter what the feedback is it’s the most important validation an actor can receive. How it is received is only a testament to the willingness of an actor to grow.

For this and this alone is why Self Management For Actors is my Bible and Bonnie Gillespie you are my Sage.

Don’t get me wrong. I had a wonderful time as a real bearded Santa. I published my book and DVD, “THE SANTA STORIES”, and over 226,000 live views in just 9 shows of Santalivenow video podcast show. My “Santa’s 25 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar” had over 14,000 downloads to iTunes.

But, Christmas is over, now back to the couch. Earlier in the day I received a call from AKA requesting me to change my picture on LA Casting because Christmas was over, which also required a trip to my local barber.

I must be going through my mid-life crises. I WENT STRAIGHT TO MY FACEBOOK. The first thing I saw the reminder about your book signing at 7 pm.

I ask you. Who on God’s green earth needed Self-Management for actors more than me?

So, overcoming myself, I hopped into Stancer (The Santa mobile) and began my sojourn to Samuel French. I became, Don Quixote, on my quest for my impossible dream.

Though out the Q & A Bonnies answers were so on point with my own understand of the industry, and yes I worked the room in a effort to gain her gaze.
